Will 2010 be a big year for conservatives in Oklahoma?

Will 2010 be a big year for conservatives in Oklahoma? The Democratic Congress is certainly doing all it can to make it so, and the energy from the conservative grassroots is certainly hitting a high pitch. In the past week alone, I attended the Oklahoma County Republican Party Lincoln Day dinner and the Comanche County annual barbeque. Attendance and enthusiasm at both events was phenomenal – continuing the pattern I have seen at similar events held by the Muskogee County, Payne County and Tulsa County Republican Parties.

As we go into this year’s elections, it’s great to see the growing momentum among conservatives and it’s important we channel that energy so it results in electoral victories. We must unify and work toward a common goal of electing good, conservative Republicans who will advance the cause of real reform. For local control to be more than a mantra, we must be involved in local political organizations. To achieve results, we must build our party from the grassroots up and give all Oklahomans a real choice in this fall’s election.

For those of you becoming politically active for the first time ever, become active in the process by volunteering to work on campaigns and supporting your local county parties and Republican women’s clubs.

I know that in the Superintendent’s race, it won’t be enough to simply replace Democrat Sandy Garrett. I am running for the office to bring true, conservative reform to our education system that benefits our children. For those of you who are in agreement, it is vital that I have your support. Please sign up to volunteer on my campaign or should you desire, consider contributing financially to the campaign. Together, we can change the course of our country and Oklahoma’s education system this November!
